At Cerenity, we believe that meaningful technology should respect the people it serves.
This Privacy Policy explains how Cerenity Innovation, Inc. ("Cerenity," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, processes, stores, shares, and protects personal information in connection with the Cerenity App and related services (collectively, the "Services").
Our Services are designed to help users better understand their daily energy levels, stress-related patterns, and personal well-being through AI-powered analysis of physiological and contextual information.
Artificial intelligence is a core part of Cerenity. In addition to using personal information to generate individualised wellness insights, Cerenity may, with appropriate notice and consent, use eligible personal wellness information to develop, train, test, evaluate, and improve shared Cerenity AI models used across the Services.
Because some of the information processed through Cerenity may be sensitive, we are committed to providing transparency, meaningful user control, appropriate consent mechanisms, and safeguards proportionate to the nature of the information.
This Privacy Policy applies to information processed by Cerenity. Connected third-party platforms may have separate privacy policies governing their independent processing activities.
Depending on the features you enable and the permissions you grant, we may collect and process the following categories of information.
When you create an account, we may collect:
We use this information to establish and manage your account, provide support, maintain security, and communicate with you.
With your authorisation, we may access and process physiological and wellness information from compatible devices and connected services.
Depending on the integrations you enable, this may include:
We use such information to establish personal baselines, estimate energy capacity, identify patterns and changes over time, generate personalised wellness insights, and, where permitted and consented to, improve Cerenity's shared AI models.
Some of this information may constitute sensitive personal information or receive heightened protection under applicable law.
With your permission, we may access selected calendar information to analyse how daily activities and scheduling patterns may relate to your energy and stress.
This may include:
We will seek to access only calendar information reasonably necessary for the relevant Cerenity functionality.
Where you authorise location access or provide location information manually, we may process location information to obtain relevant environmental context.
This may be used to identify factors such as:
The precision and frequency of location processing will depend on the permissions you provide and the features you use.
We may process information that you voluntarily provide, including:
Please avoid providing information that is not reasonably necessary for the functionality you are using.
We may collect limited technical information necessary to operate, secure, evaluate, and troubleshoot the Services.
This may include:
Cerenity's systems generate or infer information from the data described above.
This may include:
Where this information can reasonably be associated with an identifiable user, we treat it as personal information.
These outputs represent computational interpretations and not clinical diagnoses.
We use personal information for purposes including:
To provide energy forecasting, stress-related insights, wellness analysis, personalised recommendations, and other requested features.
To establish and update your individual baselines and tailor Cerenity to your patterns, activities, and preferences.
Subject to applicable consent and legal requirements, to develop, train, fine-tune, test, evaluate, validate, calibrate, monitor, and improve shared Cerenity AI models and analytical systems.
This processing is intended to improve Cerenity's health and wellness functionality for current and future users.
To identify errors, biases, anomalies, inaccurate predictions, model-performance problems, and other issues affecting the safety or usefulness of our AI systems.
To authenticate users, administer accounts, maintain preferences, and provide customer support.
To prevent misuse, investigate security incidents, troubleshoot technical problems, and maintain the integrity and availability of the Services.
To provide important service-related notifications and respond to your requests.
We do not use personal health information for targeted advertising.
We do not sell personal health information to data brokers.
HealthKit-derived information is not used for advertising, marketing, unrelated profiling, or unrelated data mining.
AI-powered analysis is a core component of Cerenity.
Cerenity analyses authorised physiological, behavioural, scheduling, environmental, and user-provided information to identify patterns and generate personalised wellness insights.
Processing may occur:
AI processing may generate new inferred information concerning your wellness, energy, stress-related patterns, behaviour, or activities.
These inferences may be inaccurate and should not be treated as medical conclusions.
Where personal information is transmitted to an external AI provider, Cerenity will clearly disclose the relevant sharing and obtain explicit permission where required by applicable law or platform requirements.
Unless separately disclosed and expressly authorised, third-party providers acting for Cerenity are not permitted to use Cerenity users' personal wellness information to independently train their own unrelated general-purpose AI models.
Cerenity develops shared AI models that learn from patterns across data contributed by multiple users.
The purpose of shared model training is to improve the Cerenity Services, including:
Shared models may subsequently be used to provide AI-powered functionality to multiple Cerenity users.
Subject to your permissions, applicable law, platform requirements, and any required consent, information used for model improvement may include:
Cerenity seeks to minimise the use of direct identifiers such as names and email addresses in AI model-training datasets and to separate or reduce identifying information where reasonably practicable.
Where required by applicable law, Apple requirements, or other platform requirements, Cerenity will obtain separate affirmative consent before using eligible personal wellness information for shared AI model training or improvement.
The consent request will describe the nature and purpose of the processing.
Acceptance of Cerenity's Terms of Use alone does not replace any separate model-training consent that is required.
Information obtained through Apple HealthKit is subject to additional restrictions.
Cerenity will only use HealthKit-derived information for purposes permitted under Apple's requirements and applicable law.
Where HealthKit-derived information contributes to model development, such processing will be limited to developing or improving the health and wellness functionality provided through Cerenity and will occur only with the permissions required for that processing.
Cerenity does not use HealthKit information for:
Cerenity will not provide HealthKit-derived personal information to a third-party AI provider for that provider's own independent or general-purpose model training.
Where reasonably practicable, Cerenity applies measures designed to reduce direct identification of users in datasets used for shared model improvement.
Depending on the processing involved, such measures may include separating direct account identifiers from training records, pseudonymisation, aggregation, access restrictions, or other privacy and security safeguards.
De-identification does not eliminate every possible privacy risk, and Cerenity therefore continues to apply safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information.
Where model-training processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent for future processing.
You may do so using privacy controls made available through Cerenity or by contacting:
Following withdrawal, we will stop adding newly collected eligible personal information to shared AI model training based on that consent within a reasonable operational period.
Where identifiable source information remains separately stored and is subject to a valid deletion request, we will delete it in accordance with applicable law and our retention obligations.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing completed before withdrawal.
AI model training changes mathematical parameters within a model based on patterns found across many training examples.
As a result, once information has been lawfully incorporated into a shared model, it may not always be technically possible to identify or isolate the effect of a specific individual's contribution.
Withdrawal of consent therefore generally prevents future use of eligible personal data for new training but may not automatically reverse model training that has already occurred.
Where technically feasible and legally required, Cerenity will take additional measures to address applicable deletion or objection rights.
This provision does not limit any rights provided to you by applicable law.
We may disclose personal information only where necessary and lawfully permitted.
We may use authorised providers for functions such as:
Service providers are required to process information consistently with their contractual obligations to Cerenity and applicable law.
Where a provider receives personal information for AI processing, Cerenity will provide appropriate disclosure and obtain explicit permission where required.
If Cerenity sends personal information to a third-party AI provider, we will disclose the relevant processing in accordance with applicable requirements.
Unless separately disclosed and expressly consented to, personal wellness information supplied to such providers on Cerenity's behalf may not be used by those providers for their own independent general-purpose AI training.
HealthKit-derived information is subject to the additional restrictions described in this Privacy Policy.
When you connect a wearable, health service, calendar provider, or other external platform, information may be exchanged with that platform in accordance with your permissions.
A platform's independent processing is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.
We may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, valid legal process, or lawful governmental requests, or to protect the rights, security, and safety of Cerenity, our users, or others.
If Cerenity undergoes a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar transaction, personal information may be transferred where legally permitted and subject to applicable privacy obligations.
Cerenity does not sell personal health information to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers.
Cerenity does not use personal physiological information for targeted advertising.
HealthKit-derived information is not used for advertising or marketing purposes.
Cerenity Innovation, Inc. is based in the United States, and our infrastructure and service providers may process information in countries or regions outside your country of residence.
Where personal information is transferred internationally, Cerenity will implement measures required under applicable privacy laws.
Where additional information or consent is legally required for a transfer to a foreign country or recipient, Cerenity will provide the required information and obtain consent as applicable.
We implement technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, destruction, loss, and misuse.
Because Cerenity processes potentially sensitive wellness information, access to such information is limited to systems, personnel, and providers with a legitimate need to process it.
Where appropriate, safeguards may include encryption, authentication controls, restricted system access, monitoring, and organisational security policies.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and Cerenity cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable law.
Account information, wellness information, and personalised analytical results may be retained while your account remains active and for a reasonable period thereafter where necessary for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or other legitimate requirements.
Information included in AI model-development datasets may be retained for the period reasonably necessary to train, evaluate, validate, document, and improve the relevant model.
When you request deletion of your account or personal information, we will delete or appropriately de-identify information that remains reasonably identifiable and subject to deletion, unless retention is legally required or permitted.
Deleting your account stops future collection through the deleted account and, where applicable, future use of newly collected eligible information for shared model training.
AI models already trained using lawfully collected information may continue to be used where an individual's contribution cannot reasonably be isolated from the trained model, subject always to rights and obligations imposed by applicable law.
Information independently retained by a connected wearable, health platform, calendar provider, or other third party must generally be managed through that provider.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to:
You may also change device-level permissions using your device or connected-service settings.
Where account creation is supported, account deletion may be initiated through Cerenity's account-deletion functionality.
Requests relating to privacy or AI model-training consent may also be submitted to:
We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.
We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
Cerenity is intended for users aged 18 or older unless Cerenity expressly states otherwise for a particular service.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
If we become aware that such information was collected without the necessary authorisation, we will take appropriate steps to delete or otherwise address the information.
Cerenity may connect with external platforms and service providers.
Third parties may have their own privacy policies governing information they independently collect or process.
We encourage users to review the privacy policies of connected services.
Cerenity remains responsible for its own processing obligations under applicable law.
We may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in:
We will provide appropriate notice of material changes.
Where a change materially expands the use of sensitive personal information or AI model training and applicable law or platform requirements require additional consent, we will obtain that consent before beginning the new processing.
